Iron Mesh Sink Drainage Rack

The sloped base is what separates this LuxAura rack from the flat mesh trays that end up sitting in a pool of water. The incline runs water off the surface and back toward the sink, so sponges, brushes and soap bottles dry between uses instead of staying damp and developing the smell that comes with it. Damp sponges are the least hygienic thing in most kitchens, so drainage is a practical concern rather than a cosmetic one.

Open iron mesh keeps air moving on all sides, which does the same job from underneath. The vintage red powder finish gives a working kitchen a bit of colour where most sink accessories are apologetic grey plastic, and a white version is offered for a quieter look. Both resist the corrosion that untreated metal picks up beside a sink. Mesh construction is also far easier to rinse clean than a moulded tray with corners that trap grime and detergent residue.

Anti-skid strips on the feet keep the rack in place on a wet benchtop rather than sliding when you press a sponge into it. It also works as a general countertop caddy for cloths, scourers and small utensils. Rinse and dry it periodically, and wipe the underside of the feet so the anti-skid strips keep their grip.
