Description

Losing the cable changes how a table lamp gets used. This LuxAura lamp runs on a built-in rechargeable battery, so it can move from a bedside table to a desk to an outdoor dinner without hunting for a power point. Charge it in the evening and it will carry a full night of ambient light. It also solves the perennial problem of a bedside table with no socket behind it, or a console in the middle of a room.

The touch switch on the body is responsive and quiet, cycling brightness with a tap rather than a click, which makes it easy to use in the dark. The light itself is soft and diffused to reduce glare and eye strain during reading or late work, and the low setting is dim enough to leave on as a night light without lighting the whole room. Holding the switch dims the output progressively, so the lamp can be set precisely rather than jumping between two fixed levels.

The all-aluminium alloy body has the weight and cool finish of a considered object, in black, brown or white to suit warm or cool interiors. It suits bedrooms, studies, bars, restaurants and dining tables. Charge only with the supplied cable, and keep the lamp and its charging port away from water.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the battery last?

A full charge carries a full evening of use, and the lower brightness settings stretch it considerably further.

How do I change the brightness?

Touch the top of the lamp to cycle through the warm brightness levels. There are no buttons or switches to fumble for in the dark.

How is it recharged?

It charges over a standard cable, so you can top it up on a bench or a bedside table between uses.

Is it safe to use outdoors?

It is ideal for a covered balcony, patio table or verandah in dry conditions, since there is no cord and no power point needed.

What finish is the body?

A smooth matte shell that resists fingerprints and sits comfortably beside timber, linen and stone.
